Brian Newman

Brian A. Newman brings over 30 years of experience to the defense of every client’s case and is dedicated to providing aggressive advocacy. Mr. Newman graduated from law school in 1978 and admitted to the state bar in 1979. He first served as an attorney with the Law Offices of Tarlow & Tarlow, and during his time at the firm, Mr. Newman represented clients in a variety of cases, including criminal law, personal injury law, family law, disability law, and business law.

These experiences have helped Mr. Newman better understand the unique complexities of White Collar cases, which has provided him with insights that greatly benefit his clients. After two and a half years with Tarlow & Tarlow, Mr. Newman refocused his practice to exclusively represented clients charged with federal crimes. Okabe & Haushalter is proud to have Brian A. Newman as Senior of Counsel and Senior Federal Trial Counsel. Mr. Newman has successfully tried hundreds of Federal Criminal Cases in multiple districts throughout the United States. During his career, Mr. Newman has developed expert skills as a trial lawyer while specializing in all aspects of criminal law. He has defended thousands of clients. Their cases have included hundreds of Federal cases, child pornography, white collar crime, wiretaps, search warrants, multi-kilo drug seizures, money laundering crimes, and appeals before the Court of Appeals for the State of California, California Supreme Court, 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Newman is a member of the State Bar of California, United States District Court for the Central District of California, United States District Court for the Northern District of California, United States Tax Court, United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, United States Supreme Court Bar and Culver Marina Bar. He is also affiliated with the Culver City Chamber of Commerce, Jewish American Chamber of Commerce, Legal Advisory Committee of the Los Angeles Anti-Defamation League, and the Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity of The University of Southern California.
