ABC News reports that an El Monte Navy recruiter has been arrested and charged with sexual assault of a potential recruit. The 40-year-old recruiter encountered the victim on March 9th when the recruit came to his office for a practice written test.
The victim reports that the sexual assault occurred in the recruiter’s car after the two drove to a location near the victim’s home, rather than to a library to retrieve study materials for the exam as she had been told. The woman contacted police immediately and the recruiter was taken into custody on Wednesday. On August 12, he was charged with one count of sexual penetration by a foreign object. The recruiter is being held on bail and could face up to eight years in prison.
